DIY Pom Pom Tutorial

via Martha Stewart

Some of you may know about my obsession with pom pom's...
my post here
Landyn's 1st birthday party decor here

They add the perfect whimsy to any party decor. Here is my simple tutorial on how to make these posies.

Materials {for ONE pom pom}
8 pieces of 20x20 Tissue Paper
18 inch piece of floral wire
scissors

Step 1
Stack 8 sheets of tissue and begin folding 1 inch wide folds, creasing with each fold.

Step 2
Fold a piece of floral wire in half, and twist around center of tissue.

Step 3
With scissors cut ends of tissue into rounded or pointed shapes, depending on how you want your pom's shaped

Step 4
Pull apart layers one at a time

Step 5
Pom Pom is formed. Use the floral wire to hang pom's from ceilings, light fixtures, etc.

{NOTE} I buy my tissue from Party City. You want to be sure the tissue is thick enough to stand pulling apart layers. Thin tissue will rip.

These Pom Pom's have become my party staple. They are ALWAYS a huge hit. Happy Crafting!
