day 3 of our "Week of Christmas" series
Traditions
Traditions
Last Christmas was Landyn's very first Christmas and we started a tradition that I hope to carry on to all the kids in my family. The Elf on a Shelf tradition.
Have you introduced this elf to your family? Maybe this is the first time you've heard of it.
Inside the book set is a pixie elf that is designed to sit and perch himself on a shelf in your home, as well as a book that explains the background of the tradition. Each pixie elf has a very important job. He must watch over your family each day and report to the North Pole each night and tell Santa who has been naughty and nice. By morning, he's back, but in a different spot in your house for a daily hide and seek game that will delight kids and parents alike.
It can become a fun tradition to read this book at the beginning of the holiday season. Your kids are encouraged to name their elf and fill out a certificate at the back of the book. You then register him online on the author's website.
I bring Lulu (our elf) out the day after Thanksgiving, and begin the tradition. This morning Landyn found him on the counter eating cookies :)
Do you have any special holiday traditions you share with your family?
